Crow & Iris
Tacoma, WA · Handmade gemstone jewelry
Crow & Iris is Patricia, a self-taught artist who designs, makes, photographs, and packages every piece herself in her home studio here in Tacoma. She opened her first Etsy shop in June 2005, the month Etsy went into beta testing, and has been making jewelry ever since.
She is drawn to rare and hard-to-find gemstones, which is why so much of her work is one of a kind or made in very small runs. The settings are sterling silver, solid antiqued brass, copper, and 14k gold filled, and the look mixes vintage and modern, which is also why her photos are so often shot on old books and postcards. A portion of every sale goes to charities she chooses, including the Tacoma Rescue Mission.
"I love working with rare, unusual and hard to find gemstones and because of that, I tend to make a lot of one of kind or very small runs of jewelry."

Why we carry them
Jewelry is the hardest thing to buy for someone else, and Patricia's pieces are the ones people pick up and keep. A single stone on a simple chain, made a few miles from the shop, is the gift that gets worn every day.
How it's made
In Patricia's own words:
- Materials: 14k gold filled, hypoallergenic stainless steel, sterling silver, solid antiqued brass, and copper
- Stones: Rare, unusual, and hard-to-find gemstones, so most pieces are one of a kind or very small runs
- Process: Designed, made, photographed, and packaged by Patricia in her home studio
