Tacoma, WA · A quarterly magazine about this city
Grit City Magazine started telling Tacoma's stories online in 2017 and put out its first print issue in September 2018. It comes out quarterly now, and it is about one subject: the places, history, and people of Tacoma.
The print edition, which they call Hard Copy, is an oversized 11 by 14 inch magazine, printed by Print NW and hand-stitched and embossed in-house. Every issue comes with a print by a local artist tucked inside.

Why we carry them
We are a Tacoma shop, and Grit City is the Tacoma magazine. It is the thing we picked up when we first moved to Tacoma in 2018 and it's what we hand to someone who just moved here. Their stickers go on every laptop in our house and life!
How it's made
From Grit City's own site:
- Hard Copy magazine: 11 by 14 inches, printed by Print NW, hand-stitched and embossed in-house, with an 11 by 14 art print in every issue
- Prints: 11 by 14 inch prints on heavyweight 100 lb paper
- Sticker: Custom designs and sizes, all awesome and very Tacoma
